FOREU4ALL Elects New Forum Board for 2026–2027 Mandate

Its composition ensures a balance between continuity and fresh perspectives

Beatrix Busse, Chief Development Officer of EUniWell and Vice-Rector for Teaching and Studies at the University of Cologne, will continue in her role as Chair of the FOREU4ALL Forum Board. 

Emily Helmeid, Secretary General of EUGLOH, will also remain in her role as Vice-Chair. Joining her is Fernando Pérez Peña, General Director for European Projects and European University of the Seas SEA-EU General Director.

Outcomes of the Venice workshop

The FOREU4ALL community convened in Venice last December for the workshop “Putting the European Degree Label into Action: Bridging Policy and Practice”, jointly organised by the topical groups on European Degree & Joint Programmes and Quality Assurance. The outcomes of the workshop are now published, offering consolidated insights and recommendations for all.

Activities of the
Community of Practice

Representatives from FOREU4ALL, Future4Alliances and SPREAD EUI, together with the Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC) and the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), have recently met in Brussels to discuss opportunities for closer collaboration and strengthen the role of European University Alliances as leading models in the wider higher education sector.
The topical group on Quality Assurance has hosted the webinar 'Institutional Reviews and Quality Assurance of European University Alliances', bringing together European Commission representatives, quality assurance agencies, and alliances to explore the current and emerging landscape of institutional reviews and evaluations of alliances.
250 participants joined the webinar 'Physical, Virtual or Blended...': The concepts of mobility and internationalisation in European Universities Alliances,organised by the topical groups 'Mobility' and 'Upscaling Internationalisation and Innovation in Education'.

Lucie Hunter, FOREU4ALL Project Manager & Policy Advisor, together with Olga Wessels, Co-Coordinator of the initiative, welcomed a delegation of Norwegian university managers and coordinators engaged in European Universities alliances at the ECIU office in Brussels.

Lucie also contributed to the gathering 'The Future Is Erasmus' in Brussels, a stakeholder dialogue bringing together the higher education community to reflect on the future of Erasmus+.

Andreas Winkler, Secretary General of Unite! and member of the FOREU4ALL Forum Board, participated in the Academic Cooperation Association's event 'What's new in Brussels? Recent developments in European policies and programmes 2026'.

The topical group on Internationalisation & Global Outreach contributed to the latest Central European Conference on Internationalisation of Higher Education (CEEDUCON 2025), celebrated in Prague.

The Student-Led Topical Group organised a networking event in Brussels alongside student representatives from European Universities alliances, an inspiring open space for collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Melih Özkardes, co-chair of the topical group on Diversity and Inclusion, joined the workshop “Contested Spaces of Democracy and Inclusion in European Universities” organised by Una Europa at Freie Universität Berlin.
